In my role as the PMO Manager, I look after the iteration management capability and the competency we have.
We have four IM’s, one in each of our product teams, and they help facilitate the flow of work through our teams. The IMs also foster a continuous improvement environment to make sure our ways of working are always improving and getting better.
By adopting an agile approach of delivery what that’s allowed us to do is breakdown traditionally long pieces of work which can take many months into small incremental pieces that we can deliver in value and in full. What that allows us to do is have more points and contacts with our internal product managers and also customers to make sure what we are delivering is of value and of the expectations that are required.
We also adopt a fail-fast mentality where if something isn’t quite right, we have got more time to course-correct and continuously deliver the value that’s expected from us.
