Intelematics is proud to announce it has become an official member of Women in Automotive – Australia’s leading organisation promoting and supporting female and non-binary participation in the automotive industry.
As an official corporate member, Intelematics will actively support Women in Automotive’s mission to address inequity in the Australian Automotive industry.
Women in Automotive was established by the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce in 1999. It is now an independent national organisation that supports thousands of women through networking events, education, and sharing success stories through an engaged community.
Intelematics’ role as a member will include sponsoring and promoting events, including the upcoming Change Makers event in Melbourne. Plus, using its membership to promote diversity and inclusion – internally and externally.
Katherine Anderson, Senior Product Manager and a part of the Intelematics senior leadership team, says: “We are very proud to be a member of Women in Automotive and to have the opportunity to help promote the inclusion and success of women in this sector.
Women in the automotive sector remain underrepresented—from the boardroom to the sales floor. We look forward to playing our part in changing this and paving the way for more women to succeed,” Katherine adds.
According to Rachel Reed Butler, a director at Women in Automotive, studies by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency have shown that the gender gap on total remuneration in the automotive sector is still around 19 per cent.
“We know first-hand the challenges that women face in this vibrant and growing industry, and we’ve seen how fostering collaboration, education and networking can provide the support necessary to overcome these challenges,” says Rachel.
“Through the support of organisations like Intelematics we can extend our reach, increase the visibility of our work and move a step closer to achieving our vision,” she adds.
2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Women in Automotive. Intelematics joins leading brands including BMW, VIC Roads and Honda as a members/partners.
Rob Finney, General Manager at Intelematics, said: “As a technology company exclusively supporting the automotive sector, we understand the challenges and opportunities of creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
“We look forward to working with Women in Automotive to raise the profile of women in this industry,” Rob adds.
