Intelematics to operate Lexus Enform in Australia

Intelematics, a leading provider of connected mobility services, has collaborated with Lexus Australia to introduce the highly anticipated Lexus Enform connected vehicle program to the Australian market.

Intelematics has developed and will operate the Lexus Enform program on behalf of Lexus Australia. The program will initially feature five motoring related in-vehicle apps accessible from the Lexus dashboard, popular smartphones and the Lexus Owners Portal.

Lexus Australia chief executive Sean Hanley said that the partnership with Intelematics has been invaluable in facilitating the introduction of Lexus Enform in Australia.

“At Lexus, we always strive to bring more to the driving experience. With Lexus Enform we have achieved that goal. We are excited to bring this program to the Australian market which will continue to evolve throughout the Lexus ownership experience,” said Hanley.

In addition to application development, Intelematics will source and develop future services and apps, manage content suppliers, operate a 24 x 7 contact centre and facilitate important links between Lexus and their customers, services, content and Lexus systems.

According to Adam Game, CEO of Intelematics, the inclusion of telematics services will greatly enhance the in-car technology offering to Lexus’ customers.

“Intelematics have been involved in the development and delivery of automotive telematics programs in Australia for over ten years and are at the forefront of the creation of next generation telematics solutions which are set to become more mainstream and accessible for Australian motorists looking towards 2014.”

“It has been amazing working with Lexus on the Enform program.  From the outset, Lexus and the Toyota Group have strived to bring Australian drivers the best possible connected vehicle experience, without compromise. That meant building a solution from the ground-up, rather than simply localising a Japanese or American service.”

“For Intelematics, it has been an privilege to be entrusted by the leading automotive group to develop and operate this program, which is the first of its type in Australia and amongst the leading connected vehicle solutions being implemented anywhere in the world,” said Game.

Enform is available in the IS 250, 300h and 350 sedans from this month and will provide motorists with a range of connected services, with the first release of Enform to include the following:

Enform Concierge: A quick dial service connecting drivers to Lexus Customer Care centre, Drive Care, Lexus Dealers and Destination Assist.

Destination Download: Send locations to your vehicle from the convenience of your home, office or compatible smartphone, or following a call to Lexus Concierge.

Fuel Finder: Find and compare their nearest service stations for fuel price and availability of premium fuels.

Local Search: Provides an internet-based search for local businesses and services.

Weather: Live search of current and forecast weather conditions including rain radar for any chosen location, direct from the Bureau of Meteorology.
